(bah-LAHS-an-nuh)

Also known as:

  • Garbhasana

Level:

  • Beginner

Chakra:

Benefits: This is considered the "resting" pose ... where you return to relax in a safe place.  It provides a comforting stretch to the back, thighs, and hips.

How to do it:

When on your knees, and your weight resting on your heels, slide the arms forward along the floor until your head reaches the floor.  Relax.  Arms may also be placed with fingertips facing the toes, or hands grasping the heels.
