Benefits: This is a wonderful hip opener. Stretches the legs, glutes, abdomen, shoulders, chest, and neck. As your heart opens the shoulders and chest are stretched.
How it's done:
- Begin in a table position
- Move your right knee up to your right hand.
- Bring the right foot towards your left hand.
- If you are really loose, your foot may meet your hand.
- If you are tight, your foot may feel best near the left side of your pelvis
- Your right hip should be as close to the floor as possible. If you find that your hip is tight, then use a block or towel for your hip to rest. This will help to reduce stress on the right knee.
- Rotate your left thigh inwards so that the top of your foot is resting flat on the floor.
- Keep your back straight when upwards, or if you fold over your right leg...no slouching
