WHAT’S NEW?
MINI MATS BY YOGA-PAWS
Reviewed by Sarah Jane Wilson
As seen on Channel Five’s The Gadget
Show these Yoga Paws are the latest
development in a long line of yoga
socks and solutions for yoga portability.
Hailing from the US, unlike the yoga
socks out there, these use yoga mat
material (which is free of chlorides, latex
and PVC) on the ‘paws’, enabling a firm
grip and allow full flexibility for toes
and fingers. There is extra padding to
cushion and a sweat absorbent lining.
I have occasionally tried to do my
yoga practice, without mat, in various
hotels and on various floors in the past
but never felt completely confi dent
and grounded, and the range of
postures was limited. However, Yoga-
Paws can easily be popped into your
hand luggage, unlike a mat, which is
particularly useful when traveling by
train or aeroplane. Obviously some
postures, such as Sirsasana,
can still require a mat but these
provide a useful option for most
postures.
They are comfortable to wear
(they come in a range of sizes)
and you do feel really secure
- much more than I expected.
They are also washable (by
hand); again, a lot easier than
a mat.
You don’t need much
equipment for yoga, but to
ensure you can easily maintain
your daily practice when away,
these are a useful addition for
any Yogi.
